NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a North Nashville nightclub that claimed the life of a 17-year-old.

The incident happened inside the Kilimanjaro night club on Artic Avenue back in May.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 19-year-old Christian Evans was arrested late Tuesday night in the fatal shooting of Brandon Williams.

He's been charged with criminal homicide.

Officers responded to the nightclub around 1 a.m. on May 31 and found Williams unresponsive on the floor. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The events that led up to the shooting were still unknown.

Williams had also just graduated from Hillwood High School just a week before his death.

Just days before the shooting, Evans was convicted of felony aggravated assault and received a three-year probated sentence. Witnesses were able to identify him as a suspect after viewing a photo lineup.

He was booked into the Metro Jail shortly before 1 a.m. Evans was being held without bond, pending a hearing scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
