NASHVILLE, Tenn. - They have been responsible for building Nashville upward: cranes have taken over the skyline as development has boomed.
For the largest cranes on the largest projects, demand has been so high there has often been a months-long waiting list.
AmQuip has been one of five crane companies in Nashville. They said after the economy cratered and bottomed out in 2010, business has been booming once again.
AmQuip Branch Manager Scott White said his company had almost matched its peak prior to the recession, and he added he expects to surpass it next year.
"Right now the way the city is looking and all the tower cranes we have up right now and all the new construction coming out of the ground, things seem to be really good," White said. "You never know what's around the corner but right now the outlook is good."
For smaller cranes AmQuip said it has plenty of supply ready to go same day for smaller projects.
White said that's where the company has made the most money in Nashville, especially with how many houses are being built in the area.
