NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro police said two parents were caught dealing drugs while their young daughter was with them.

Officials said 25-year-old Kirby Waters and his wife 27-year-old Alysia Waters were selling drugs from their SUV while their 6-year-old daughter was inside.

Officers went out to Brevard Court and Jessie Drive in South Nashville after a neighbor called them Friday night.

Police arrived to find the suspect vehicle pulled over down the street, and authorities noticed there was a kid in the back seat.

The officer asked to search the vehicle, and while doing so, Alysia Waters allegedly became very upset, yelling at the officer and throwing a backpack and cell phone at him.

Police found 5.5 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, and a loaded handgun near the daughter.

The child was being cared for by her grandparents while her parents were in Metro jail.

Both parents were booked into jail before midnight Friday and were facing several charges including child neglect and possession of a weapon and marijuana.

Alysia Waters was also charged with assault of an officer.
