Driver In Custody After Fleeing Burning Vehicle On I-40

MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A driver was taken into custody after fleeing a burning vehicle along Interstate 40 in Wilson County.

The early-morning incident happened on I-40 East in Mt. Juliet.

Officials spotted the burning vehicle on the side of the road. The driver could be seen inside the car.

When he spotted police, he allegedly got out and took off running. He was stopped and placed into the back of a squad car.

It was unknown if he would be facing any charges.

His identity was not known at this time.
