NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A driver was robbed and carjacked at gunpoint by two suspects north of downtown Nashville.
The incident was reported shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday on Delta Avenue.
The victim told officials with Metro Police that he gave a ride to a man from the Tigermart on Rosa Parks Boulevard to an alley in the Cheatham Housing Projects.
After the suspect got out of the car, the alleged victim told police another man approached the vehicle and ordered him to get out of the car. He walked back towards Rosa Parks Boulevard and called police.
Authorities said the car was found in the alley a short time later.
Detectives found the victim's cell phone, along with other items inside a dumpster.
The suspects were described as two African American males. No one has been taken into custody.
Police said the incident appears to stem from drug-related activity. The investigation remains ongoing.
