NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A search was underway in East Nashville for a suspect who robbed a restaurant at gunpoint overnight.
Officials with Metro Police said the incident happened late Wednesday night at El Jaliciense Mexican restaurant, located on Gallatin Pike.
Employees were cleaning up around 11:30 p.m. night when a man walked in through the back door with a semi-automatic gun.
They told police that the man pointed the gun at them and demanded for money; however, only one of them gave up change from his pocket.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Authorities responded to the scene and dispatched a K9 unit in an effort to track down the suspect, but they couldn’t locate a scent.
The suspect was described as an African American male in his mid-'20s, around 5-feet six-inches tall and weighs around 140-pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, a hat and jeans.
