NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A job fair is being held Thursday to help hire crossing guards in Nashville.
The job fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Goodwill Career Solutions Center at 780 Berry Road.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is trying to fill 39 school crossing guard positions in the Nashville area. Guards make $10.03 per hour.
The position is only part-time, but guards get summers off and paid holidays.
Job seekers were encouraged to bring a resume, photo ID, and social security card or birth certificate. Dress professionally as on-site interviews were possible.
Last month, Metro Police said if they can't hire enough people, officers will have to fill in, which could take them away from their normal duties.
