NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Local authorities have been issuing a challenge to each other and the community.
They met Thursday at Nissan Stadium to announce the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive event.
The Metro Police Chief and the Davidson County Sheriff enjoyed some friendly banter, and they said it's all for a good cause.
The event has been set to encourage community members to come out and donate blood to help save lives.
“We really need everyone to come in and give blood,” said Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson. “Not only the employees of the police department, the sheriff’s department, and the fire department, but all of our citizens. We're saving lives, and you can be a part of that winning team.”
The blood drive has been scheduled for Monday at Nissan Stadium from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The American Red Cross has been in need of all blood types.
