Man Injured In Clarksville After Shots Fired Into Car

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was taken to the hospital after shots were fired into a vehicle on a Clarksville road.

The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, near Crossland Avenue and Madison Street.

Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said three people were traveling down the road when someone in a car behind them fired shots.

The victims’ vehicle was struck at least three times.

Police said a man inside the car was struck in the back of the head by either a bullet or a fragment of glass.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The victim was reportedly alert and talking prior to being transported.

Witnesses described the suspects’ vehicle as being a small silver or possibly gold pickup truck with a camper shell on the back. Police said the suspects could either be two African American men or a male and a female.
