SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – A 34-year-old Hispanic man was robbed and shot on the front porch of his Robertson County home.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. Monday, at a residence on Laramie Drive in Springfield.

Officials with the Springfield Police Department said the man was robbed and shot while on his front porch. Three people were sleeping inside the home at the time but were not injured.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.

Authorities said criminals have been targeting residents in the Hispanic community because they are less likely to report the crime.

Two suspects are being pursued in the case.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-382-3789.
