NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man wanted in a murder case on South 7th Street surrendered to police.

Authorities said 24-year-old Dimitri Michavo went to police headquarters Sunday afternoon. He was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide for allegedly fatally shooting 23-year-old Terel Parker.

The incident happened during a confrontation in East Nashville on South 7th Street around 10 p.m. April 29.

Police said the shooting was tied to a domestic dispute between Michavo and his 21-year-old wife Chamaine Estmond. The couple apparently had an argument at their Underwood home, at which time Michavo took Estmond’s phone and car keys.

She reportedly fled the home and went to stay with Parker, her cousin.

When Michavo arrived, Parker went outside to Estmond’s her phone and keys. A struggle broke out and according to witnesses, Michavo shot Parker.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Michavo’s bond was set at $1 million.
