MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities said a man was fatally shot when a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force served a warrant at a Memphis home.
U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Seth Bruce said a deputy U.S. marshal and officers with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force were involved in a fatal shooting Wednesday.
Bruce said no officers were injured in the shooting. He referred further questions to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the lead agency in the investigation.
Neither the TBI nor the Marshals Service has released the identity of the man who was killed. TBI said his name will not be released until the medical examiner completes an autopsy.
Officials have not said whether the shooting victim had a weapon.
