NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A collision involving multiple vehicles has caused a significant backup on Interstate 440 West in Nashville.
The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. Thursday along westbound lanes of I-440 at 21st Avenue.
Details of the crash were unknown at this time.
At least three cars appeared to have been involved in the wreck. One person was removed from an SUV and loaded into an ambulance.
It was not known how many people were hurt.
Traffic could be seen backed up for a considerable distance. Drivers should expect major delays.
At this time, the Tennessee Department of Transportation estimated the scene could be cleared by 7 a.m.
