NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police were currently searching for a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a man outside an East Nashville residence Wednesday night.
Officials with Metro Police said a warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Dimitri Michavo charging him with criminal homicide. Michavo was believed to have fatally shot 23-year-old Terel Parker.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. at a residence on South 7th Street near Sylvan Street.
Police said the shooting was tied to a domestic dispute between Michavo and his 21-year-old wife Chamaine Estmond. The couple apparently had an argument at their Underwood home, at which time Michavo took Estmond’s phone and car keys.
She reportedly fled the home and went to stay with her cousin, Terel Parker.
When Michavo arrived, Parker went outside to get her phone and keys. A struggle broke out and according to witnesses, Michavo shot Parker.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
According to police, Michavo was arrested on charges of felony aggravated assault against Estmond in March 2014, and was also accused of interfering with her efforts to contact 911.
He was convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault and received a suspended sentence.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts was urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
