GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Police were called out to a Davidson County jewelry store after an SUV slammed into the side of the building.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. Friday at Hancock’s Premiere Jewelers at 328 Long Hollow Pike in Goodlettsville. The driver was apparently in an adjacent empty lot when he went over the grass and hit the southwest side of the building.
The store was not opened, but a car wash fundraiser with several people was happening on the other side of the building.
Officials said the vehicle went through the wall and into a storage room. An estimate of the damages was not available.
An ambulance and several patrol vehicles from the Goodlettsville Police Department were on the scene.
No one at the building was injured, but the driver suffered minor bumps and bruises. He told police his accelerator became stuck.
The incident was not believed to be part of a robbery attempt.
It was unclear if the driver faced any charges, or if drugs or alcohol were believed to be involved.
