NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police were working to determine the details of what happened at an Antioch apartment complex that led to the death of a teenage victim.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area of the parking lot around 1 a.m. Friday at the Beechwood Terrace Apartments off Bell Road.
They told police they heard a vehicle speed away from the scene.
When officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department arrived on scene they found the victim had been shot multiple times.
It wasn’t clear how many times the teen had been shot, but a resident told NewsChannel 5 he saw 30 to 40 bullet casings on the ground.
The victim was in extremely critical condition. He was transported to the hospital. It was not clear if the teen died on the way to the hospital or once he arrived.
There was no information available on a suspect. It wasn’t even clear if police knew the teen’s identity.
Evidence markers were set up all over the parking lot.
Investigators were going door to door at the apartment complex, trying to determine if any of the residents had any additional information that might aid in their investigation.
