NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Representatives of Vanderbilt University issued a warning after a female student reported she was assaulted.
The student told authorities the incident happened at 11:13 a.m. Saturday while she was walking on 24th Avenue South near the Free Electron Laser building and McTeire Hall.
The student said a man pushed her down and groped her from behind while telling her to not make a sound. The female victim then yelled and ran toward Medical Center East into a crowd of people, according to reports.
Authorities said the student identified the suspect from a photo. He was described as a black male, standing 6’ to 6’2’’ tall. His age was around 25-29 years. The suspect had black braids or dreadlocks in a ponytail, and he was wearing a bright blue t-shirt, black backpack, blue athletic shorts, and gray tennis shoes.
