More rescues took place due to flooding in west Tennessee.

Crews helped multiple people Sunday, including families and pets who needed to get to safety from a flooded area near the Hatchie River just south of Brownsville.

More than a dozen homes were evacuated late Saturday night in Gibson County after the heavy rains breached a levee near Kenton

Gibson County Emergency Management Agency director Rickey Graves told The Jackson Sun about ten homes in Kenton and half a dozen homes in Trenton were evacuated.

He said fire crews also rescued stranded motorists who attempted to drive through flooded streets.

The National Weather Service said a flood warning was continuing through Thursday for the North Fork of the Obion River near Martin.

Graves said the water was receding Sunday in Trenton.
