Flooding Hits Parts Of Middle Tennessee

Flash flooding has been reported in multiple areas across Middle Tennessee.

Saturday afternoon, multiple counties were placed under either a Flash Flood Warning or Areal Flood Warning for most of the afternoon and evening, including Davidson, Rutherford, Sumner, and Wilson counties. Other counties saw Severe Thunderstorm Warnings throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

Viewers wrote in to NewsChannel 5 Saturday evening to share stories of areas that had flooded.

In one case, a car was seen trapped in flood waters on Acorn Drive just off Elm Hill Pike.

At one point thousands of power outages were reported by the Nashville Electric Service. There was no official word on the exact cause of the outages. To see the latest outage map, click here.
