NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police responded to Vanderbilt University Sunday morning for a shots fired call after a campus party was broken up.

Campus police ended the "Pajama Jam" event hosted by a Vanderbilt and TSU fraternity because of several fights.

Fights continued on the street after the party was let out. Someone in the crowd suffered minor injuries during a physical altercation.

Around 1:20 a.m., Metro police said someone fired a gun from a car that was leaving the area. No one was shot.

Students elsewhere on campus sheltered in place until police cleared the scene.

Police are investigating where the gunfire came from.
