Megan Scarano

Morning Reporter

Megan Scarano is an award-winning journalist. She joined NewsChannel 5's morning team as a reporter in May of 2026.

Before moving to Nashville, Megan spent more than three years in Birmingham, Ala., anchoring the weekend newscasts and reporting in the evenings. She anchored an Emmy-winning newscast following the Five Points South Mass Shooting in 2024. Megan also led her station's continuing coverage of a state intervention into a local school district which won a Regional Edward R. Murrow award.

Megan thrives in a fast-paced environment covering breaking news and severe weather, even reporting from Florida as Hurricane Helene made landfall.

Megan graduated from West Virginia University with degrees in Journalism and Dance. She will always cheer for the Mountaineers!
