Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) cited the three Bellevue PetSmart store employees for animal cruelty.
Kristopher Stengel, Greg Gordon, Tonya Smith were cited after officials reviewed information and video from the Bellevue location.
The Metro Public Health Department brought the evidence to the attention of the District Attorney’s Office and Metro’s Law Department which resulted in a search warrant being issued on March 29.
Officers confiscated six animals, a guinea pig, mice, and hamsters. The six animals were sent to a local vet to be checked out. Since then, each of the animals have been turned over to Metro Animal Care and Control. As part of the investigation vet records for the Bellevue location were requested.
