FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — Franklin police are offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the death of a 26-year-old man.

On June 27, Jamarcus Esmon was shot and killed on Edgewood Boulevard. Franklin detectives have been investigating his murder, but have not named any suspects.

Esmon would have turned 27 years old on Tuesday and is survived by his young daughter Ja 'Yah. The Esmon family celebrated his life by releasing Auburn blue and orange balloons near his grave at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Traci Esmon spoke on behalf of the family to help honor her nephew. She says Jamarcus was known for his contagious smile and how he always managed to bring people together.

“The number one thing for him was family. It’s always been family and he loved each and every one of his family members,” Traci said.

Jamarcus’ smile is now forever engraved on his tombstone, just five minutes from where he was gunned down.

“Of course you hear a lot of rumors and then the rumors you hear, we see these people still walking around as if they hadn’t done anything and that is hard,” Traci said.

Franklin Police tell us they’re investigating, but after dozens of leads in more than two months, they need help from the community.

"Our commitment to bring Jamarcus Esmon's killer to justice is as tireless today as it was on the day he was killed," Franklin police said. "We will not stop until that happens. Our hearts hurt for the Esmon family, especially today."

Anyone with information on his murder is asked to call Franklin police at 615-794-2513.
