MADISON, Tenn. (WTVF) — An elderly grandmother carjacked in broad daylight, in her own driveway.

On Saturday around noon, Shirley went out to her driveway on Monticello Avenue in Madison to get items out of her car. That's when she says a young man approached her from behind, held a box cutter to her face and threatened her.

"I said please, please son, don't do this," said Shirley.

78-year-old Shirley is a two time cancer survivor. She doesn't scare easily, but is still shaken up today.

"He said give me those keys and I won't hurt you," said Shirley.

Shirley says the man threw her to the ground before driving off with her car.

They hope the person responsible is caught before he tries to hurt someone else.

Shirley reported the incident to Goodlettsville police. She is asking the community to be on the lookout for a 2013 Black Chevy Impala, with a US flag sticker and a Jesus sticker on the back.

It has a Tennessee license plate is R4870A.

If you see it, or have any information call police.
