Accused Antioch Church Shooter Indicted On 43 Charges

The suspect accused of opening fire at an Antioch church has been indicted on 43 criminal charges, including murder.  

The shooting happened in September 2017 at the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ.

Metro Nashville Police said 25-year-old Emanuel Samson shot and killed Melanie Crow in the parking lot before going inside and shooting six others, including the pastor.

According to investigators, Samson accidentally shot himself during an intense scuffle with 22-year-old church usher Caleb Engle - a handgun carry permit holder who subdued the gunman until police arrived.

There were 42 people inside the church at the time of the shooting, including a class of Sunday school children.
