NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The man accused of dragging a Metro Nashville police sergeant down Broadway on his ATV is expected to appear before a judge Friday.

The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested Walter Moss in Springfield on Wednesday. He's scheduled to appear in court for a review of his case.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon when around 100 dirt bikes, motorcycles, ATVs, and four wheelers illegally took over Broadway.

Police said Sgt. John Bourque was crossing the street to investigate a hit-and-run when he was struck by one of the ATVs.

As he ran to catch one ATV driver, another driver slammed into him and he was dragged into the metal barriers. He said he was not trying to tackle the driver.

Moss is facing three felonies and three misdemeanors in Bourque's assault.

He has a criminal history, including charges for resisting arrest and aggravated assault on an officer.
