NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Brazen burglars hit Blo Blow Dry Bar in Hillsboro Village, and now local business owners are banding together to fight crime.

Surveillance cameras caught the moment the three burglars arrived. They used a sledgehammer to burst through the glass at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Hillsboro Village around 3 a.m. Friday. Owner Katelyn Eulau said they got away with a computer and cash.

"Trying to look at the positive side of it knowing that everyone on my team is okay, it’s a little setback but we can still be open, we can still move forward. It’s something we can recover from, and I’m really glad it didn’t induce labor. I’m pregnant right now, due in a week and a half,” said Eulau.

The security company called her, and she rushed down to her business with her husband and called police. This comes at a time when businesses are already struggling due to the pandemic.

"It sounds like other businesses were hit as well, someone on Belmont Boulevard, someone in Green Hills called us and asked if we could compare notes, so it’s happening to others, unfortunately," said Eulau.

Next door at Anzie Blue, co-owner Marcie Van Mol captured one of the burglars staring inside with a sledgehammer in hand, as a 'love you' balloon glared back.

"We know they’re probably coming back, and so at this point, we really feel like sitting ducks; so instead of being scared, we want to fight back, so we’re spreading the word," Van Mol said.

The surveillance video she posted on social media has been viewed thousands of times. Marcie said she's not scared, she's making it her mission to bring them to justice.

"We have a very supportive community that has all reached out to us following seeing our post, and we’re going to find them," Van Mol said.

Other businesses like Chago's Cantina posted on Instagram that their glass was busted out too. If you have any information, call Metro Police at 615-862-7400 so business owners can feel more at ease soon.
