NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Carmike Hickory 8 Movie Theater, the site of last week’s movie theater attack, has been scheduled to re-open for business Monday.
Businesses in Antioch said they won't let the attack keep the community from moving forward.
Joselito’s Mexican restaurant next door to the movie theater had opened just two days before the shooting, and managers there said they expected customers would stay away for a while afterwards.
But they said they were surprised to see they've had a full house of customers since the attack.
They added it shows the resilience of the Antioch area.
“I think Nashville is so special, I think the Nashville community is different, and we're not going to let these massive things affect us,” said Alexia Humphrey, the general manager of the restaurant.
The first movie at the Carmike Hickory 8 has been scheduled for just after 1 p.m. Monday.
