Clarksville man dies from injuries in New Year's Day crash

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Clarksville man has died from his injuries following a crash that happened on New Year's Day, Clarksville police say.

The crash happened between a Jeep and a motorcycle on January 1 on Fort Campbell Blvd. The motorcycle rider, 51-year-old Harold Perry, was sent to the hospital in critical condition after the crash. He died from his injuries Tuesday.

The driver of the Jeep, Arial Hummel, was arrested for driving under the influence the night of the crash. She is now also charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield resulting in death. The judge has set her bond at $50,000.

This is the first fatal crash of 2020 in Clarksville.
