NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The 2019 NFL Draft saw record-breaking numbers. A total of 47.5 million people viewed and 600,000 fans attended the event, making it the highest rated, most watched and most attended draft ever.

Music city transformed for the three day event. Butch Spyridon, CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., says about 2,000 volunteers helped with the 2019 NFL Draft. Spyridon estimated about 5,000 airbnbs were sold.

And the cleanup will take longer than a week - eight days to be exact. Spyridon says any reusable products they have will be donated to local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

"This was the biggest multi-day event attendance wise and biggest broadcasting event. This went to 115 countries," said Butch Spyridon.

While its too early to say the exact economic impact, Spyridon says the numbers are looking good. They are still collecting hotel data and street studies.

The success of this event is a huge milestone for Nashville and Spyridon says it shows the world what we have to offer.

"It was always our goal to make it harder for other cities to follow us...check," said Butch Spyridon.
