Committees Grill Dept. Of Education Officials on TNReady Exams

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Comments and questions got heated during a meeting between the Tennessee Department of Education and Tennessee House Education Committees over the TNReady tests.

Education Commissioner Candice McQueen answered questions and discussed how the tests could be improved, following last year's many issues.

Some lawmakers say the test is already off to a rocky start and Questar is not doing enough to fix those problems now.

The state already made changes this summer including going back to paper testing for students in 3rd - 8th grade.
