President Trump has officially endorsed Republican nominee Bill Lee in the Tennessee governor’s race.
Trump tweeted his support Friday morning after Lee carried 36.7 percent of the vote in Thursday night's primary election.
Congratulations to Bill Lee of Tennessee on his big primary win for Governor last night. He ran a great campaign and now will finish off the job in November. Bill has my total and enthusiastic Endorsement!

Lee ran in the Republican primary against former state economic development Commissioner Randy Boyd, of Knoxville, U.S. Representative Diane Black, of Gallatin, and State House Speaker Beth Harwell, of Nashville.
Lee will face former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean in November.
