Fire consumes building at Lucky Ladd Farm

Posted

A fire destroyed a building at Tennessee's largest petting zoo Saturday.

The fire started around 6 p.m. at Lucky Ladd Farm in Eagleville. The seasonal farm is a family-friendly attraction known for it's animals, wagon rides, playgrounds, mazes and nature trails.

The farm said on Facebook the fire destroyed a building that is not used by visitors. Hundreds of animals live on the farm. None of them were injured and neither was anyone working on the farm.

Firefighters from Rutherford and Williamson Counties responded to the fire. They were on the scene for almost four hours. The cause is still under investigation.

The farm said it considered itself blessed that it wasn't worse.

Lucky Ladd Farm closed on November 1 for the season. It will reopen in April.
