MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A firefighter was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon while fighting a brush fire in Murfreesboro.
The 10-15 acre brush fire was contained to a wheat field near Kingdom Drive and Veterans Parkway.
Crews say windy conditions caused the fire to spread quickly.
The Rutherford County Fire Department also responded to fight the brush fire.
Fire officials say the fire has been extinguished and crews are on scene wetting down the field to prevent a rekindle.
The firefighter taken to the hospital reportedly has non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
