FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — Franklin Police are investigating after a suspicious man attempted to pick a 5-year-old child up Friday night in The Factory at Franklin.
Around 6:30 p.m., the man repeatedly tried sitting near the child before putting his hands under the child’s arms in an attempt to pick him up. The man moved away from the child and left after being confronted by the child’s relative.
Police and family members are unaware at this time as to what the man's intentions may have been. Police say if there is any misunderstanding, they hope the man will come forward to clear the air.
The man in question is wearing the pink hat and was in the company of two other. They left in an older, dark-colored long, boxy vehicle with a loud exhaust.
