FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — The developers behind downtown Nashville's Gulch district are proposing a similar project in Williamson County. It would be called East Works District and situated off Carothers Parkway by Cool Springs Boulevard.

The complex would include rowhomes, bars, co-working spaces, markets, kiosks, retailers and a boutique hotel.

Currently, the proposed site is home to Ford Motors Credit Company and about 509,000 sq. ft. of parking lots.

The new buildings would be built in six phases and constructed using a mix of materials including brick, glass, steel, concrete and wood. The developers said they want to honor Franklin's history and aesthetic.

The development would take about six years to complete and construction would start in 2020.

The Franklin Municipal Planning Commission will consider the proposal at a hearing on May 23.
