NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Part of the Vanderbilt campus is getting a new look this weekend when the Carmichael West Tower three came down.

The implosion process took place just after 9 a.m. Saturday

You can watch the video in the player above.

Nearly 400 pounds of explosives were used to bring the building down. Holes were been drilled on every other floor of the 14-level building and filled with dynamite.

The implosion is just one scheduled for the Carmichael West dorms. Tower 4 will be taken down later this year. They'll be replaced with new dorms at the corner of West End Ave. and 25th Ave. South.
