NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Kroger is getting into the CBD business and will soon start selling those products in the coming weeks, including in Nashville.

The grocery store chain will sell CBD items such as lotions, balms, oils and creams. However, there’s a law that doesn't allow CBD to be added to food or marketed as a dietary supplement.

The store is already rolling out the products on the West Coast. By the end of this month, they will be in 945 stores in 17 states.

Kroger is the largest grocery retailer in the country.

Some industry experts say Kroger could be stocking up on CBD to both differentiate themselves and compete with Walmart and Amazon.

Right now, chains that already sell CBD products include Walgreens, CVS, Vitamin Shoppe and GNC.

Where will the products be in the store?

Some are beauty and skin related, but other retailers have kept CBD separate from other brands. You’ll be able to see for yourself by the end of the month.
