Little Pantry That Could To Open In New Location

The Little Pantry That Could has been set to open in its new location after being forced to close.

The pantry, which has helped families put food on the table, closed in July.

When someone walks into the new location on 24th Avenue North, they can sign their name and shop with no questions asked.

Those with the pantry said none of it would be possible without volunteers.

It's taken an army of them, from renovations to restocking shelves at the new Little Pantry That Could.

Friday, they brought in all their food -- 10,000 to 13,000 pounds of it. No one minded the work. It meant people will not go hungry this weekend.

The pantry had to close for four months to find a new home, and it was hard on everybody.

They'll feed about 200 families when the doors open Saturday, and with the extra space, they're renovating to add more services.

Those with the pantry said they hope have services like laundry and showers.

However, it's an expensive project, and to keep it going, the pantry has depended on donations.

Whether giving money or time, they said it will all help The Little Pantry That Could keep chugging along on their way to making a difference in Nashville.

The Little Pantry That Could, located at 2011 24th Avenue North, has planned to be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
