ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — Eating healthy can be time consuming and expensive. That's why a couple of local chefs got together to make a weekly food box for families that's both healthy and affordable.

The box comes with cooking instructions and feeds a family of four all week for just $40.

The people who started Nash Top Chef hope more people will utilize the program.

So far, customers like Barbra Macedo love it.

Macedo said, "I work a lot, and not having to think about what to prepare, not having to go to the grocery store, all have been really beneficial things for my family."

So far Raenel Stelly-Cummings and Jeremy Graham have been able to help around 100 families.

Stelly-Cummings said, "That's kind of our motto simply 'save you half,' so we provide you with the groceries so you don't have to go to the grocery store, we provide you with all of the items, only thing you really have to get is your dairy products which most people have."

Volunteers at Knowledge Academies help the chefs pack the boxes and then they are picked up or delivered.
