FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- As the nation continued to mourn the loss of the nine people shot and killed at an historic church in Charleston, South Carolina, a local Christian music singer-songwriter has offered comfort through a song that's going viral.
Steven Curtis Chapman recorded a song for Charleston Friday, and he posted an iPhone video of him singing it to his Facebook page.
In less than a day, that video was viewed more than four million times.
Chapman said, as a songwriter, he wanted to do something to help the people of Charleston heal.
“My hope was that some of those in that community would just hear it and be encouraged to know the lives of their loved ones were being honored in this way,” Chapman said.
