A 20 year-old has been charged in a shooting on McMillin Street that left one man injured.
Officials said 20-year-old Dariyon Thomas was charged Friday night in the shooting that took place on August 12 in the 200 block of McMillin Street near Church Street.
Reports stated the 20-year-old gunshot victim was sitting in a vehicle with his 27-year-old friend when Thomas reportedly approached.
That’s when Thomas allegedly began a conversation with them and was allowed to sit in their car.
Authorities said it’s believed Thomas pulled a pistol out several minutes later and attempted to rob them. A struggle then took place inside and outside of the car.
Officials said the 20-year-old was shot in the face. He suffered severe damage to one eye and was treated and released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
According to reports, Thomas admitted to being involved in the shooting during an interview.
Thomas has been charged with especially aggravated robbery and aggravated robbery. He was being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
