As shoppers took part in Small Business Saturday this weekend, one small business in Nashville was cleaning up after an overnight burglary.
The incident happened at the Sweet Creations bakery on Monroe Street.
The burglar busted out a window, but once inside, they didn't go for a lot of money. Instead they went for their main product: a bunch of pies.
Herman Patton, who has been known as the "pie man" in the area, owns the shop.
He said the holiday season is his busiest time, so while the theft will set him back, he said he's not mad at the burglar.
He even set out another pie for them if they come back again overnight.
”They cannot steal the joy in our hearts,” Patton said. “We're going to keep on going, because that's what small business is about.”
Patton said there was no surveillance camera footage from near the area.
