NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The case against a man who's accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, her 13-year-old son and stabbing her 16-year-old daughter has been bound over to a grand jury.

Jermaine Agee appeared in court Friday afternoon for a hearing to determine whether the case would proceed.

Metro Police said the 37-year-old broke into the home of his estranged girlfriend, 38-year-old Mayra Garcia, early in the morning of October 7. He's accused of stabbing Garcia, her 16-year-old daughter, Alexis Taylor and her 13-year-old son, Jayden Taylor. Garcia and Jayden died from their injuries.

During Friday's hearing, Alexis Taylor testified that Agee told them he was going to set the house on fire, kill them and then kill himself. Her testimony was emotional at times as she recounted the brutal attack.

"We go downstairs and he takes us to my brother's room... and [Jayden] was laying on the bed and he was bleeding and gasping for air and [Agee] went and hit him on the head and called him a b****," Taylor said.

Taylor broke down crying as she described knowing her brother would die.

She said Agee made Taylor, Garcia and Taylor's 8-year-old sister, Kaytlin to go upstairs into the living room.

"My mom kept telling him, let's talk it out. Let's just talk about it. You don't have to do this," she said. "[Agee] was like, 'No, I'm going to kill all of y'all.' He said 'Mayra, you need to kill your daughter.' He was trying to make her kill Kaytlin."

Agee is charged with murder and attempted murder. Police were able to ping Garcia's cell phone which lead to his arrest.

According to Metro Police, at the time Agee was already wanted for domestic assault.
