NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police searched for the driver of a white van who hit a man in South Nashville and kept going.
Officers were called to the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Elysian Fields Road at about 11:00p.m. Sunday night. A 48-year-old man was found lying in the road after being struck by a vehicle, police said.
A witness told police the victim was trying to cross the road when he was struck by a white van that was traveling outbound on Nolensville Pike. The driver of the van didn't stop, police said.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries. Metro Nashville Police Department's fatal crash unit responded to investigate.
