Tuesday night’s frigid temperatures have prompted Metro’s emergency shelter to open in Nashville.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing again.

Metro's overflow shelter will open at the Shelby Park Community Center from 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials said there are five to seven spots with kennels available for people with pets.

Anyone needing shelter should first check for beds at the Room In The Inn and the Nashville Rescue Mission.
