MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Simple things like a haircut might not be easy for every child. The sound of the razor, scissors or even the cape can cause fear. However, there's a salon owner in Murfreesboro who makes sure kids – and parents – keep smiling.

Kayla Sprout opened Kk’s Castle this year, a hair salon catering to all children but especially those with autism or sensory issues.

“I let them feel the clippers and see the clippers that just eases their mind,” she said.

Kayla has studied child behavior and allows extra time for the kids to acclimate before she does anything.

“Everyone's a child and they come in and, you know, I just I see their smiles. I see their personalities and you know, I see them for them,” said Kayla.
