NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Half Marathon, Marathon and 5K takes place Saturday morning, and drivers should expect miles of road closures around town.

The 5K kicks off at 7 am and the longer races both start at 7:15. Rolling road closures will be in place as runners use the course. The route begins on 5th Ave N at First Horizon Park, formerly First Tennessee Park, between downtown and Germantown.

Runners will circle around to the Capitol View area on Rosa Parks Blvd to Charlotte Ave/MLK, then take 11th Ave N through the Gulch. They will move through the Music Row area using Division St, 16th and 17th Aves.

Then they will use Demonbreun to cut through Downtown, turning on 2nd Ave to access the Woodland St Bridge.

Once across the river, runners will use routes on both sides of Nissan Stadium and make their way to Davidson St to Shelby Park and back. They cross the bridge again and use 1st Ave to travel to Jackson St and eventually back to the ballpark at 5th Ave.

Road closures may be in place for as many as 6 hours, as police wait for the last runners to cross the finish line. Streets near the start of the race will open earlier, once everyone passes through.
