The Ann Chapman Holiday Lights Competition has been canceled due to a lack of interest.
Metro Public Works, Metro Beautification and Environment Commission, Nashville Electric Service NewsChannel 5 have been the contest sponsors for the past several years.
The competition has been running for more than 25 years. However, city officials said they did not receive enough entries to support this year's competition.
This was the second holiday event in Nashville to face a roadblock. The popular show, The Dancing Lights of Christmas, was nearly canceled due to traffic problems.
Yet, the organizers and city officials were able to reach a compromise by moving the show to a new location.
