NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — As the coronavirus continues to spread, schools have canceled or postponed graduation as a safety precaution.
But that hasn’t stopped Nolensville from making sure their seniors celebrate this milestone.
Instead of walking across a stage for graduation, students and parents took a drive around town.
"The community is so supportive and it's such a good experience to feel that," senior Dale Hurley said.
It’s not your traditional ceremony but nonetheless these seniors said the moment was just as special.
"It's closure," said senior Carver Hardison. "We may not wear caps and gowns but still get to be with people we love."
Nolensville police led the formation. The parade started on Haley Industrial Drive and proceeded south to Rocky Fork. Nolensville Road was closed for about an hour.
Nolensville High School is hoping to able to have their graduation ceremony postponed to July but that remains up in the air.
